“Morze plastiku” - tak myślę o hafcie na zdjęciu.
Główny motyw, który kryje się za moim haftem związany jest z plastikiem jako źródłem zanieczyszczeń. Każdego roku ok. 27 300 ton odpadów ląduje w wodach Morza Bałtyckiego - z czego ok. 70% stanowi plastik, w tym niewidoczny mikroplastik. Czy chcemy aby nasze morze składało się z plastiku - jak na moim hafcie?
W dodatku to nie jedyny problem naszego pięknego morza, jego fauny i flory. A tyle można zrobić, gdy:
-
będziemy pamiętali o wielorazowej torbie na zakupy;
-
zastanowimy się czy na pewno potrzebujemy tej koszulki/sukienki z sieciówki;
-
zamiast w plastiku kupimy produkt w szkle (np. na wagę).
I wiele, wiele innych!
Takie motywy przyświetlały mi też przy tworzeniu tego haftu.
Dlatego użyłam tu:
-
materiału ze starej poszewki, którego faktura jeszcze dodaje pracy klimatu;
-
plastiku z jednorazowych siatek, których nie cierpię, ale jak już trafią w moje ręce używam ich wiele, wiele razy, aż do zniszczenia;
-
muliny polskiej firmy Ariadna, kupionej w małej pasmanterii wspierając lokalny biznes.

A sea of plastic ... - that's what I think about this embroidery.
The main theme behind my embroidery is plastic as a source of pollution. Around 27,300 tons of waste ends up in the waters of the Baltic Sea each year - about 70% of which is plastic, including invisible microplastics. Do we want our sea to be made of plastic - like on my embroidery?
Furthermore, this is not the only problem with our beautiful sea. And there is some much we can do if:

we will remember to take the reusable shopping bag;
-
we will consider whether we really need this t-shirt / dress from the chain store;
-
instead of plastic, we will buy a product in glass (e.g. by weight).
And so many other ways!
I kept it all in mind while creating this embroidery. That's why I used:
-
material from an old pillowcase, the texture of which adds even more atmosphere to my embroidery;
-
plastic from disposable bags, which I hate, but once they get into my hands I use them many, many times, until they are completely destroyed;
-
mulin from the Polish company Ariadna, bought supporting local business.
I hope that the awareness of the problem and such small steps as described above will slowly change the world.
